When someone has an experience that overwhelms them physically and/or psychologically, it can be traumatic. As a trauma specialist who is well-versed in the family systems model, Sam Marion aims to value each client as unique as well as part of a wider system. Sam is drawn to the power of expressive therapies to allow clients to not just remember, but truly process and heal.
Sam is a bilingual Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) who has experience working with children, adolescents, and adults in a variety of settings. He has a Masters of Social Work and a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish, both from the University of Georgia. He recently completed a postgraduate certificate in Traumatic Stress Studies through the Justice Resource Institute in Brookline, Massachusetts. Sam is a Certified Family Trauma Professional and has completed training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).
Sam continues to pursue trainings that widen and deepen his skillset in order to provide his clients with the best practices that fit their needs. Sam also enjoys providing trainings and education as well as building partnerships with local and regional entities. Sam currently is a part of Leadership Colquitt County and feels passionately about providing high quality services to his community.
